Application
Nail Prep:
- To start, we suggest you care for your cuticles by gently pushing them back and trimming any excess dead skin prior to application. This is essential to not only help you get that fresh out of the salon look, but help with adhesion!
- Ensure your hands and nails are thoroughly dry before applying CARAMELA nails. Trim your nails and gently file or buff the surface of your natural nails. This roughened texture will enhance the glue's adhesion.
- Cleanse your natural nails with the alcohol wipes provided. Optional: Enhance your routine by applying your favorite nail dehydrator, or proceed directly with a gel base or gel matte coat application for an added layer of protection!
Nail Glue Application:
- Apply a drop of glue to both the CARAMELA nail and your natural nail. With a bit more practice, you'll learn how many drops of glue to use, adjusting as you go along.
- Appropriately position the CARAMELA nail to your natural nail and apply at a downward 45° angle to avoid air bubbles. Press down firmly for at least 15 seconds and pinch the sides to make sure the glue is evenly cured.
To prevent irritation, steer clear of applying too close to your cuticle or accidentally getting nail glue on your skin. If any glue does get on your skin, quickly wipe it off.
Nail Sticky Tabs Application:
- Peel off the protective backing from the sticky tabs included with the press-on nails.
- Press the sticky tabs onto your natural nails, ensuring they are centered and aligned properly.
- Carefully align the press-on nail with your natural nail and firmly press it into place, holding for a few seconds to ensure adhesion.
Nail Glue + Sticky Tab Combo
This adhesive combination is great for those with flatter nail beds who may experience gaps or bubbles when using nail glue alone.
- Press the sticky tabs onto your natural nails, ensuring they are centered and aligned properly.
After application, it's best to refrain from getting your hands wet or filing your nails for a few hours to ensure that the nail glue sets properly.
Removal
We understand the struggle of removing your press-on nails, especially if they're really glued down! That's why we've put together this helpful guide to make the process easier for you.
- Soak your nails in a bowl of warm, soapy water mixed with a few drops of any skin-friendly oil for about 10-20 minutes. Take this brief moment to relax and unwind.
- Once your nails have soaked, use an orange wood stick or cuticle pusher to gently slide in between the gel tip and your natural nail. Wiggle the stick and lift your press-ons off. If a lot of nail glue was used, you may need to soak a bit longer. Keep soaking until you can easily slide and lift them off without damaging your natural nails.
- Use a nail file or buffer to remove any residual glue on your natural nails.
- Cleanse your CARAMELA nails by washing them with gentle soap and water. Dry and store your set back on the nail card provided. Keep in a cool, dry place for future use.
- Wash your hands and follow up with your fav moisturizing hand and nail treatment or cream.
Reuse
While our gel nails are designed for temporary wear, they can withstand extended use with proper care. Learn more about Nail Wear Maintenance→
Care: Cleanse your CARAMELA nails by washing them with gentle soap and water. Dry and store your set back on the nail card provided. Keep in a cool, dry place for future use.
To reuse your nails, start by removing any excess adhesive buildup from nail glue or nail tabs.
For excess nail glue, use a q-tip soaked in acetone to carefully "melt" and rub off the residual glue. Caution: Acetone can potentially damage the gel top coat if it penetrates, so ensure to dab off any excess acetone and apply only the necessary amount to the underside of the nail tip where the residual glue is. Alternatively, if you're proficient with an e-nail file, you can use a fine grit sanding band to file off the excess glue.
For nail tabs, use tweezers to remove any excess sticky adhesive.
Once all adhesive buildup is removed, you can proceed with reapplying your nail wear!
